staring at the ceiling is about as interesting as watching grass grow! in my previous post back down, slow down, i explained what happened ... and so, the story continues ...

the ‘orthopod’ explained that i have an unusual [typical me] spinal injury. i won’t use their jargon and terms, no one understands it, anyway. when the chair collapsed and i fell, the force knocked my l-5 vertebra forward and upward with a severe jolt. this in turn, tore the disc bindings and ‘shot’ the disc into my spinal canal. it gets better ... i naturally have a narrow spinal canal and the disk is occupying half that space ... the result is that my spinal cord is being ‘pushed’ and ‘pulled’ in a small vertical space of about 5/6 mm [quarter inch] ... a little ‘zig-zag’ causing a lot of pain.

i am unable to walk more than about 25 m. i can’t stand for more than about 3 minutes, and i’m able to sit for about 20 minutes at a time!

i have started ‘physio’ and will start acupuncture tomorrow, and my email still works ...

:: round like a shot
going to bed the other night, i noticed people in my shed stealing things.

i phoned the police but was told no one was in the are to help. they would send someone over as soon as possible.

i hung up. a minute later i rang again. ‘hello,’ i said, ‘i called you a minute ago because there were people in my shed. you don’t have to hurry now, because i’ve shot them.’

within minutes there were half a dozen police cars in the area, plus helicopters and an armed response unit. they caught the burglars red-handed.

one of the officers said: ‘I thought you sad you shot them.’

to which I replied: ‘I thought you said there was no one available.’
