my first fighter ... an ‘indian square’ from philippe gallots’ book ‘making and flying fighter kites’ ... i ran to the only kite shop in israel ... everything but fighters ... bought 1.2m of yellow ripstop, 50m of 20lb nylon flying line and a reel ...

i had already split and shaped the bamboo ... and so i built and glued and tied knots and decorated and lo-and-behold ... it was ready to fly ... and so it did!

i was hooked ...
